The university provides 250+ courses at UG, PG, PG Diploma, and PhD levels in the field of humanities, science, commerce, management, engineering, education, and law. To get admission in bachelor’s degree courses, it is mandatory to pass 12th grade with 50% marks in a relevant subject.

For PG courses, holding a relevant bachelor’s degree is generally recommended. Candidates who are going to take Panjab University admission need to appear for the national-level entrance test, while the university also conducts its own entrance test (PU-CET). Panjab University was founded in 1882 in Lahore. However, after Indian Independence, it was again established in Chandigarh, India. Panjab University admission for the undergraduate program has started for the academic year 2026. Students are invited to apply for their desired UG program and specializations. The university offers undergraduate programs like BCA, BBA, BA, B.Com, B.Sc., BFA, B.Ed., BE, B. P.Ed., Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS), Bachelor of Pharmacy, BLibSc. All PG courses are available for a duration of 4 years and 8 semesters. To avail admission for the UG program, students need to pass a 10+2 examination with at least 50% marks from the respective board. Selection of the student will be based on PU CET (UG). For BHMCT, a valid score of PUTHAT is required.

Panjab University admission has started for the postgraduate program for the academic year 2026. Students can apply for admission to PG Programs offered by the university. These include LL.M., MCA, ME(12), MAJMC, MA, MHMCT, MPHARM, Master of Commerce, MBA, MPED, M.Sc. in 24 specializations, M.TECH, MPHIL in 16 specializations. All postgraduate degree programmes are applicable for a duration of 2 years and four semesters. To be eligible for admission to the PG program, students need to secure a 45% mark in a Postgraduate degree course or 50% in aggregate. Students have to appear for the PU CET PG examination.

Panjab University PG Diploma Admission 2026

Panjab University admission process has begun for the PG diploma program for the session 2026. PG diploma is offered for a duration of 1 year. The university offers 10 PG diplomas in regular mode. These include PG diplomas in Advertising and Public Relations, Disaster Management and Security, Buddhist Studies, Homeland Security, Journalism and Mass Communication, Radio Production, Women Studies, etc. To be eligible for admission to PG diploma courses, students need to have a bachelor’s degree in a relevant field or equivalent. PG diploma courses range between INR 33610 -INR 64,500.

Panjab University Admission Entrance Examination

Panjab University conducts various entrance examinations for different courses. Students have to register themselves before the last date.
