About University
NEHU stands for North-Eastern Hill University. It was established in 1973. It has three campuses, with one main campus in Shillong located at Mawkynroh, Umshing, Shillong. NEHU is accredited by NAAC with an A grade. Tura Campus is located at Chasingre, Tura, and the third campus, Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Community College is located in Wahiajer in West Jaintia Hills District.
NEHU encompasses 44 academic departments and 2 Centres of study under eight Schools. To be eligible for the UG program, students need to pass a 10+2 examination or equivalent in any stream with a minimum of 45% to 50% mark from a recognized board.
University provides a 5% relaxation to the SC/ST category. Admission will be based on merit qualifying scores of CUET UG for the BA LLB program. selection for b.Tech program will be done through JEE MAIN, and for the B.ARCH program, a valid NATA score is required. NEHU University PG admission 2026 has started. Students are invited to apply for the programs offered by the university. Such as M.Com, MA in 15 specializations, M.Sc with 12 specializations, master of Business Administration, M.Ed., LL.M., master of Social Work, M.Tech with 4 specializations, master of Computer Applications, and master of Library and Information. Postgraduate programs are available for the duration of two years and four semesters.
Applicants are required to have a valid PG CUET. Students must have a bachelor’s degree from a recognized university. Students must have scored a minimum of 50% to 55% marks in the relevant discipline(5% relaxation is available for reserved categories). Selection for M.Tech will be through GATE scores, and for MBA programs, qualifying CUET(PG)/MAT(AIMA) scores. For postgraduate courses fee students are required to pay INR 9,000/- to INR 30,000/-.
